,history, Date ,meeting, o’clock.
2. Learn some new phrases: School Open Day/ the parents’
meeting /at the school gate
3. Learn some sentence patterns: Which of the subject do
you like best? What’s the date today?/ What time is it?

Talk with the simple present tense.
How to master these new phrases.

Step 1 Lead-in
T: Ok, boys and girls. You have been in the new school for two
months. Do you like our school? Why?
Step 2 Presentation
T: We have lessons every day. What subjects do you have? Ask
students to make a list of subjects they study at school. One
write them on the blackboard, the others on paper.
T: Which of the subjects do you like best? Are you good at it?/Do
you do well in it? Who is your Chinese/Maths teacher? Do you
think he is good at teaching?/Do you like his lessons?
T: What subject does Mr. Bai teach you? (Biology) Do you like
his lessons? What about Mrs. Liu? (Geography) What about Mr
.Chen? (History) Read them after T several times.
Finish Part A, then ask two students to read them out.
Step 3 Practice
Ask students question like: Which of the subjects do you like
best? Why?
Ask students to make dialogues:
S1: Which of the subjects do you like best?
S2: I like …best.
S1: Why?
S2: Because it ….Which subject do you like best?
S3: I like…best.
S2: Why?
S3: Because it….
Step 4 Presentation
1. T: Eddie is a lovely dog. Do you know which is his favourite
subject? Listen to the tape and answer this question.
2. Act in pairs.
3. Suppose you are Hobo. When you hear Eddie’s words, what
do you think of him? What will you say to Eddie?
Step 5 Presentation
1. T: What’s the date today? What’s the date tomorrow? Last
week, we had mid-term exams. Did you do well in exams? Do you
know your parents will be asked to come to our school one day
to have a meeting? What’s the name of the meeting? (the
parents’ meeting) The day your parents visiting our school
is our School Open Day. What can your parents do on our Open
day? They can watch lessons.
2. Millie wants her mother to come to school on the Open Day.
Please listen to the tape and answer these questions.
(1) What’s the date of the Open Day in Millie’s school?
(2) What time does the parents’ meeting begin?
(4) What else do parents do after the meeting?
(5) When and where does Millie meet her mother?
3. Act out the dialogue.
