Step1 1 Revision
Ask students to revise what we learned in last period, say something
about Millie’s school life. Show students the pictures in PartB1. say
what they are doing and where they are.
2 Reading
Ask students read the text together.
3Practicing
Make students revise some expressions by asking and answering. Ask
students to finish Part b1. Check answers together, Then ask students
to say a complete sentence in time order.
4Retelling
Present the summary in last period on the screen. Ask students to retell
the text according to the notes. Choose one or two able students to
retell for the others.
5 Exercise (part b3)
Ask students to fill in the blanks. (with books closed.)
Millie is a student at BeijingSunshineSecondary School. She loves her
new school. It’s very big. She is in class 1, Grade 7. She loves her
classroom, because it’s clean and big.
Millie’s classmates are all nice to her. They are really great. Amy
is her best friend. At lunchtime they sit under the trees in the
playground. They always chat with eachother or play game.
The school day starts / begins at 8 every morning. They do
morningexercises first. Their lessons begin at 8:25 a.m.. Millie’s

favourite lessons are Chinese and English. She likes Maths, too. She
spends about two hours a day doing her homework.
She goes to the schoollibrary every day. She goes to the Reading Club
after school every Tuesday and Friday. She also likes playing
volleyball. Sometimes, she practices with her friends after school. Amy
is a member of the Swimming Club. She is a very good swimmer. They always
have a good time at school.
6 Questionnaire
Give every student a questionnairepart c to fill with their own
information, like when they get up, what they often do at school…
Collect the questionnaires together, ask several students to come to
the blackboard, and choose one and do a report. Make students know better
of each other.
