Step1 Lead-in
1.Show some pictures about different shops, and help students know
the names of the shop.
2.While learning these names,ask the students to read after me
3.Have a discussion with the students like this.
T:What’s this shop?
S:It’s a ---shop.
T:What can we buy here?
T:Who can we buy a present for from the shop?
S:For my teacherfriend---.
Ask the students to practise like this in pairs
4 let the students finish partA and read several times.
5. Practice:Match the things on the left with the shops on the right
Step2 Presentation
1. Students listen to the tape and answer the questions:
(1) What will Daniel buy for Simon?
(2) Why doesn’t he buy Simon a music CD?
2. Students read the dialogue after the tape.
3. Explain useful expressions:
1. buy sb. sth= but sth. for sb.

gift for him/her, but you don’t know what to buy. Now you are asking
you partner for help.
1.Ask the Ss to talk about their own ideas about what to buy and
where to buy it.
2.Have a communication with them.
3.Make up similar dialogue in pairs.

T:Thanks for giving me some ideas.I’ll take your ideas when I go
shopping.I like shopping,what about you?

him.Do you think Eddie will do that?
