1. identify general information about shopping from the reading conversation.
2. use the expressions to talk with shopper and the customer.
3. cherich their presents,love their parents and friends.

Step1 Revision:
Revise the phrases learned last period and then have a free talk.

buys some stamps for him.Because Simon likes collecting them.
Step 2. Lead-in
1.Show the picture of Amy.Teacher says she also wants to buy Christmas presents for
Simon and Sandy.Do you want to know what she will buy? At this time,I’ll take out a hair
clip.Please have a look at it.Take a look.What is this?Is it beautiful?Yes,it looks
beautiful.It looks very pretty.Then I put it on a girl’s head.Ask the other students.Does

2.Say again and write the keys words on the Bb.Let the students guess the meanings

3.Read the new words loudly and Finish PartB1 on P83 quickly.

complete a form.

Step4. While-reading
1. Skimming.
Let the students read in silence.Give them two minutes and ask them to use their pens
to underline some useful information and phrases.
Purpose:Let the students get the main idea of this passage.
2. Scanning.
Have the students read by themselves loudly and then finish Part B2 on P83.
3. Read again and answer some questions.

②What present does Amy buy for Sandy?
③Does she have enough money to buy them?
Purpose:Read to find the detailed information by using different reading skills.
4. Read the conversations and fill in the blanks with proper words.
In the first shop,Amy wants to buy somefootball cards for Simon.They are two
yuan each.Amy thinks they’re not cheap.The shopkeeper says the last year’s cards
are only one yuan each.But Amy wants to buy newcards.
In the second shop,Amy wants to buy hair clips for Sandy.She knows Sandy likes
hair clips and they are very pretty.She thinks they match her pink coat.The hair clips
are nine yuan.She has fifteen yuan.So she has enough money to buy them.

Purpose:Read to get the whole idea about the conversations.

Make a survey in groups of three or four and then give a report.
